JavaScript example:
<script type="text/javascript" src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('#btnSubmit').click(function () { if ($.trim($('#txtName').val()) == '') alert('input is blank'); else var lastword = test($('#txtName').val()); console.log(lastword); return false; }); function test(words) { var n = words.split(""); return n[n.length - 1]; } }); </script> <input type="text" id="txtName" placeholder="please entername" /> <input id="btnSubmit" type="submit" value="Submit" />
